Kia: "Hi everyone, my name is Kia and I am one of the co-founders of Moonie."
Question: Could you tell us a bit about Moonie?
Kia: "Moonie is an eco-friendly brand which focuses on making sustainable products more affordable, accessible and attainable."
Question: Why did you decide to set up Moonie?
Kia: "We started Moonie because there was a real lack of affordable eco options available. We wanted to make it easier for consumers to make those eco swaps, without it costing the earth. We love developing new products to help reduce the amount of plastic and single-use items at home, and we have lots of exciting products in development."
Question: What makes Moonie an ethical business?
Kia: "All of our products are plastic-free, vegan friendly, cruelty-free, sustainable and low-waste. Each product is also handmade in the UK, which we're really proud of as well. We research long and hard to ensure the products we use are sustainable and environmentally friendly. We work with some fantastic local fabric suppliers, who we communicate closely with to ensure the materials we use are ethical and also eco, too."
Question: What is your favourite Moonie product?
Kia: "My favourite product from our range is also our best seller: the reusable cotton pads which replace single-use cotton pads. These are great to use alongside your favourite makeup remover or toner. They're handmade from brushed cotton and are so incredibly soft. You just pop them in the wash and can reuse again and again, and they're so affordable."
Question: What advice do you have for people who want to live more sustainably?
Kia: "When starting to make the switch to zero-waste living, start small and don't feel pressured to change everything at once. Eco swaps can be really simple. Start with something easy like changing to a bamboo toothbrush - it's the small simple swaps that make a huge difference."
Question: What is your favourite thing about working for Moonie?
Kia: "My favourite thing about working for Moonie is getting to be my own boss and being in complete control. I love being a small business making a big difference. Working as a mother and daughter duo is the best; it's so great to grow a business together whilst growing our relationship. We get on so well in real life, working together has been a dream of ours and we are so grateful that we get to do it every day."
Question: What makes you most proud about working for Moonie?
Kia: "I'm really proud of the positive impact we are having and the change for good we are making. Our main goal is to leave the world in a better place than we found it, and it makes our day to see people using and loving our products. When customers buy our products and tag us in their photos it gives us a real sense of purpose, and makes us so happy that we are proactively helping people make those sustainable swaps."
Question: What are your hopes for the future of Moonie?
Kia: "In the future I'd love our products to reach a wider audience, and make it even easier for people to make those eco swaps."
